As part of the fabulous Once Upon a Time exhibition hosted by the Creative Activists in August this year I will be running a couple of needle felted terrarium workshops on the Sunday the 18th.
If you're keen to have a try at the rather cathartic practice of needle felting whilst building a miniature scene to be inhabited by model railway figurines and discarded plastic toys then this is definitely the craft for you.
Throughout the session you will learn how to create a teeny habitat for a chosen figurine. Your miniature habitat can stand-alone or be housed inside a hanging glass globe or old jar. No prior skills are needed, just an ability to stab at wool whilst keeping your fingers clear.
Max no participants – six per session
Cost - $95 which includes a take home needle felting kit
- hanging glass globe and a selection of reused bottles
- miniature plastic and porcelain figurines (people and animals)
- other terrarium accessories
- a selection of wool in various colours to felt with
Take home Needle Felting Kit (so you can make more at home):
- foam block
- single Needle punch
- felting needles
You are most welcome to bring along your own miniatures (I use HO scale), tiny plastic and porcelain animal figurines or other little bits and pieces like mushroom cake toppers etc that you might like to include.
