Project UPcycle - class outline
Each day we will focus on a different source material or theme. A menu of project choices will be provided with students able to choose whichever they find most appealing.Wed 9 Jan: hello and what do I do - show and tell and Easy UPcycling ideas with t-shirts
SAMPLE MENU: cap sleeves on a tank, cut away doilie t-shirt, collars, cowl necks, scrappy scarves, necklace
Thur 10 Jan and Fri 11 Jan: raid the linen cupboard -UPcycling tablecloths, tea towels, sheets, curtains, doona covers, woolen blankets and more.
SAMPLE MENU: easy wrap skirt, tie waist triangle skirt, patch worked doilie embellished cushion cover, tea towel cushion, bunting, clothes for little people, tea towel bag, make a dress from a bed sheet, zippered skirt, blanket tunic top
Sat 12 Jan: day of denim - transform those old jeans into new wearables and accessories.
SAMPLE MENU: shoulder bag, jeans- long skirt, cow girl skirt, lacey shorts
Mon 14 Jan: mens shirt refashion - rethink the humble workshirt.
SAMPLE MENU: shirt cushion cover, tulip skirt, ruffled skirt, cowl neck shirt with necktie obi belt
Tue 15 Jan: day of printing - add the finishing touch to your completed projects or print plain fabric to use later in the week.
SAMPLE MENU: screen printing, Lino printing, relief printing with found objects
Wed 16 Jan: cardi & jumper mash up - cut up and restyle your old winter gear.
SAMPLE MENU: cardi party dress, jumper dress/tunic top, sweater boots
Thur 17 Jan: trouser redesign
SAMPLE MENU: bolero jacket, combo long skirt
Fri 18 Jan and Sat 19 Jan: BYO
SAMPLE MENU: bring along your own ideas and we'll brainstorm and problem solve together, add the finishing touches to your pieces, revisit previous projects
